TypeThem

Privacy Policy

Short version: TypeThem has no accounts and no sign-ups. Two things are optional and off until you agree to them in the cookie banner: analytics (Google Analytics, to see which guides are useful) and advertising (Google AdSense, which pays for the site). You can accept all, reject all, or choose per category, and change your mind any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer. Copying characters and using the tools always happens entirely in your browser.

This Privacy Policy explains what happens to information when you use typethem.com. It applies to the whole site. TypeThem is built and maintained by SKK.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you, and nothing at all without your consent beyond what any website needs to load. TypeThem has no user accounts, no sign-up, no comment system, and no forms that submit personal data to us. We never receive a name, email, or any detail that identifies you as an individual.

If you allow it in the banner, two third-party Google services process data in your browser:

  • Analytics (only if accepted): Google Analytics 4 records anonymous, aggregated usage, which pages are viewed, roughly which country or region, and general device/browser type. It is used only to understand which content helps people. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
  • Advertising (only if accepted): Google AdSense may show ads and, to do so, may set cookies and process data to measure and (where permitted) personalize them. If you don’t accept advertising, ads are not personalized in this way.

Cookies and local storage, the three categories

  • Necessary (always on): your dark-mode preference and your cookie-consent choice are saved in your browser’s local storage (tt-theme and tt_consent). They stay on your device, are never sent to us, and set no tracking cookies, they only let the site remember your own settings.
  • Analytics (only if you accept): Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga and related) to tell one visit apart from the next, used only for the aggregated statistics above. Not set unless you accept analytics.
  • Advertising (only if you accept): Google AdSense may set advertising cookies to serve, cap, and measure ads. Not set unless you accept advertising.

Your consent, and changing your mind

On your first visit a banner asks what you allow. Until you choose, analytics and advertising both stay off, this uses Google Consent Mode, which defaults every non-essential storage type to “denied.” You can accept all, reject all, or open “Manage” to toggle analytics and advertising separately. To change a previous choice at any time, use the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer, or clear this site’s data in your browser.

Advertising, in more detail

Ads on TypeThem are served by Google AdSense. When you accept advertising, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, including, where you’ve allowed it, ads based on your prior activity. If you don’t accept advertising, you’ll only see non-personalized ads or none at all. You can review and control how Google personalizes ads to you at Google My Ad Center, and read Google’s advertising notice for how it uses data when serving ads.

Third parties

  • Google Analytics and Google AdSense (each only after the matching consent), Google acts as the provider. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
  • Web fonts, the site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which serves the font files; this is standard for web typography.
  • Hosting, the site is served as static files by our hosting provider, whose servers may keep standard access logs for security and reliability.

Data we do not have

Because there are no accounts and no forms, we hold no database of users, email addresses, or personal profiles. There is nothing for us to sell, and we don’t. We cannot identify individual visitors.

Children

TypeThem is a general-audience reference tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, and advertising is not targeted at children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the site evolves. The current version always lives at this page. If analytics, advertising, or other data practices change materially, this page will say so.
