Short version: TypeThem is a free reference and copy-paste utility. Use it as much as you like. The characters, symbols, and emoji themselves are part of the Unicode standard and belong to no one, copy and paste them anywhere. The site’s own text, design, and code are the work of SKK and are provided “as is,” without warranty. Always double-check a keyboard shortcut or Alt code in your own software before relying on it.
These Terms of Use govern your use of typethem.com (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. TypeThem is built and maintained by SKK.
What TypeThem provides
TypeThem is an informational reference and a set of browser-based tools for finding, copying, and learning how to type symbols, accented letters, and emoji. It requires no account, no payment, and no sign-up. Everything on the Site is offered for your personal and professional use at no charge.
Using the Site
You may read the guides, use the tools, and copy any character the Site displays, for any lawful purpose. The Unicode characters themselves are a public standard, copying and pasting them is exactly what the Site is for, and needs no permission.
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its hosting;
- Scrape or bulk-copy the Site’s original written content or design to republish it as your own.
Accuracy and “as is” nature
TypeThem’s character facts are derived programmatically from the Unicode Character Database and ICU, and keyboard steps are checked against authoritative sources. Even so, the Site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Operating systems, keyboard layouts, fonts, and applications differ; a shortcut or code that works in one program may not work in another. Verify anything important in your own software before you rely on it.
Intellectual property
The individual symbols, letters, and emoji are defined by the Unicode Standard and are free for anyone to use. The Site’s original written guides, layout, keycap design, logo, and source code are the work of SKK. You may quote or link to the Site freely; please do not copy its original content wholesale to republish elsewhere.
Third-party links and services
The Site may link to external websites and relies on a small number of standard third parties to operate (web fonts and hosting), described in the Privacy Policy. TypeThem does not control third-party sites and is not responsible for their content or practices.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SKK and TypeThem will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site, including any reliance on character data, keyboard steps, or Alt codes shown here. Your use of the Site is at your own risk.
Changes to these terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time as the Site evolves. The current version always lives at this page. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
