02 FAQ
How do I type card suit symbols ♠ ♥ ♦ ♣?
Copy them from the keys above, or in Word type the code then Alt+X, 2660 for ♠, 2665 for ♥, 2666 for ♦, 2663 for ♣. There is no plain Windows Alt+number code for the suits.
What is the difference between ♥ (card) and ❤ (heart emoji)?
♥ (U+2665) is the black heart card suit, usually shown in your text colour or as a small red heart. ❤ (U+2764) is the heart emoji, larger and coloured. Use ♥ for card suits and ❤ for love/like messages.
Why do ♥ and ♦ sometimes show in red?
Some systems colour the heart and diamond suits red and the spade and club suits black, matching real playing cards. Others show all four in your text colour. The underlying characters are the same either way.
