Check characters cover ticks and their opposite X marks, the plain ✓ check and ✔ heavy check, the checked boxes ☑ ✅, and the "no" marks ✗ ✘ ☒ ❌. Use them for to-do lists, forms and pass/fail notes. Copy any below; being pictographic symbols they have no Windows Alt code, so in Word type the code and press Alt + X.

02 FAQ
How do I type a ✓ check mark symbol?
Copy it from the keys above, or in Word type 2713 then Alt+X for the ✓ check, 2714 for the ✔ heavy check. The green ✅ is 2705 then Alt+X. There is no plain Windows Alt+number code for the tick.
What is the difference between ✓ and ✔?
✓ (U+2713) is a light check mark and ✔ (U+2714) is the heavy, bolder version. Use ✓ for a subtle tick in text and ✔ when you want it to stand out, such as a "done" or "verified" label.
How do I make a checkbox you can tick?
Use the paired box characters: ☐ (empty box), ☑ (box with a check) and ☒ (box with an X). Swap ☐ for ☑ to show an item is done. They line up neatly in lists and printable forms.
