The plain multiplication × has a Windows code (Alt+0215); for the rest, type the code in Word and press Alt + X.

02 FAQ
How do I type a ✝ cross symbol?
Copy it above, or in Word type 271D then Alt+X for the Latin cross ✝, 271A for the plus-shaped cross ✚. There is no plain Windows Alt+number code for these dingbat crosses.
What is the difference between ✕, ✖ and ×?
× (U+00D7) is the maths multiplication sign (Alt+0215). ✕ (U+2715) is a plain heavy cross used as a "close"/delete mark, and ✖ (U+2716) is an even bolder version. Use × for maths and ✕/✖ for UI "close" marks.
What are † and ‡ used for?
† (dagger, U+2020) and ‡ (double dagger, U+2021) mark footnotes after the asterisk, and sometimes indicate a death date. In Word, type 2020 or 2021 then Alt+X, or copy them above.
