Script Text Generator: Copy & Paste

1-minute answer

Script (cursive-looking) "fancy text" uses the Mathematical Script block, but eight capital letters (B, E, F, H, I, L, M, R) are borrowed from older, pre-existing symbol code points instead.

03 How it works

The exact Unicode characters behind this style, copy-and-paste, not real formatting.

How it works

  1. Script A is U+1D49C (𝒜), script a is U+1D4B6 (𝒶).
  2. Most letters follow this block directly.

The eight exceptions

  1. Script B, E, F, H, I, L, M, R use older Letterlike Symbols code points instead, e.g. script B is ℬ (U+212C, "SCRIPT CAPITAL B"), script R is ℛ (U+211B), not a code point from the main math-script range.

05 FAQ

Why do some script capitals look like a different weight?

Eight of them are genuinely different characters. B, E, F, H, I, L, M and R come from Letterlike Symbols at U+212C, U+2130, U+2131, U+210B, U+2110, U+2112, U+2133 and U+211B, added to Unicode decades before the rest of the alphabet.

Are there script numbers?

No. The script block has letters only, so digits render plain. A script name containing a year or a number will look half-styled.

Why do some letters show as empty boxes?

The font in use has no glyph for that code point, so the system draws a fallback box. Older phones and smart TVs are the usual culprits. Preview on a real device before using it publicly.

Is script the same as cursive?

At the character level they draw on the same Mathematical Script block. Most generators offer script as the lighter variant and cursive as the bold one, which is why the two look related but not identical.

Can I use script letters in a username?

Some platforms allow it and some restrict handles to ASCII. Display names are far more permissive than usernames, so try the display name first if the handle is rejected.
