How do I type a ♪ music note symbol?

What is the difference between ♯ (sharp) and # (hash)?
♯ (U+266F) is the music sharp sign, with a slight slant and vertical bars, used in notation. # (U+0023) is the number/hash sign on your keyboard. They look similar but ♯ is the correct musical character.
What do ♭, ♮ and ♯ mean in music?
