Square characters come filled (■), outline (□), rounded (▢) and in small sizes (▪ ▫), plus half-filled and patterned variants. They make checkboxes, bullets, status markers and simple diagrams that look the same in any font. Copy any from the keys below; in Word, type the code shown and press Alt + X (25A0 → ■).

03 FAQ
How do I type a ■ square symbol?
Copy it above, or in Word type 25A0 then Alt+X for ■, 25A1 for □. Small squares are 25AA (▪) and 25AB (▫). There is no standard Windows Alt+number code for them.
How do I make an empty checkbox?
Use the white square □ (U+25A1) or the small white square ▫ for an unchecked box, and ☑ or ☒ when ticked. Copy □ from the keys above and place it at the start of each line.
What is the difference between ■ and ▪?
Both are filled black squares; ■ (U+25A0) is normal size and ▪ (U+25AA) is a small square that sits nicely inline as a bullet. Pick the size that matches your text.
